So tell me now, dear lord above,
Send me a sign of a flying dove.
Prove to me that you are our lord,
And convince me not to put you to the sword.
You gave us all free will and you let us go,
And now that we've followed our hearts,
Even though to the darkest extreme,
You are where it will end and where it starts.
Currupting our life is our religions,
Convincing us that we have followed right.
But if the 'God' is so benevelant,
Why do we beg to him every night?
Tell me why my simple request,
An asking for forgiveness and hope,
Something that all are supposed to be given,
Cleansed me no better than simple soap?
But of course not all follow the lord above,
Who left our lives to be ruined.
Some follow the one below,
With a path of bloody bodies strewn.
But I cannot believe in dear Satan either,
Especially since two demons are stronger than he.
But also becuase, if you look closely around,
There is still some good you can see.
But what of those who follow no god but themselves,
The power of humans themselves to reign?
Now look where that has gotten you, dear friend,
Now you are just another bloodstain.
I look around and see a fate,
Something so twisted and so well written,
I know that something must be guiding us,
But is afraid to show itself for fear of being bitten.
Would we harm the creator of our race,
If it would show its true face?
I fear the answer is yes, so truely yes,
Just ask Christ who seemed to have failed the test.
So if our messiah came to our face,
And proved one religion or another wrong,
I fear that the hatred and ignorance of these,
Would eventually prove to be too strong.
So we are a corrupted society,
Whose god is still trying to save,
But we will not give this lord the chance,
As we run and fight like a common knave.
Lay down your swords, foolish ones,
And finally stay your hands.
Our judge will soon speak,
And finally cleanse our cursed lands.
But, for I am truely unsure,
Would we listen, finally do more?
Or would we repeat an offense of the past,
And remove our chance at life that was our last?
I fear it will be the second.
Let the fire consume you.
